Bulgarian folklore ensemble from Ruse

Makamlii

A relatively new folklore ensemble with gaida, tapan, and accordion. We play for weddings, balls, christenings, horoteki, and concerts — with live sound and attention to the audience.

The ensemble

Folklore from Ruse — rooted in tradition.

Makamlii are a folklore ensemble from Ruse. We bring gaida, tapan, and accordion into one living conversation and play for weddings, balls, christenings, horoteki, and concerts — wherever people want to dance.

We do not play a museum. We play music that calls and moves people.

Where we play

For celebrations, dance, and concerts.

Weddings and christenings

A live folklore program for family celebrations — with rhythm that leads the horo.

Balls and horoteki

Sound and repertoire suited to dance evenings and community horo.

Concerts

A curated program for cultural evenings, festivals, and concert events.

Repertoire

Live folklore — without unnecessary show.

The program can be concert-focused, dance-focused, or both. For each venue we choose length, tempo, and songs to fit the room and the audience.
